WORLD YEARBOOK DIGEST

Kyodo News

The Kyodo News yearbook of international information covers the latest situation in approximately 200 of the world’s countries and regions as well as including lists of heads of state and cabinet members.

The diplomacy and economic policies of the U.S. Trump administration has shaken the international order, while the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the fighting in the Palestinian territory of Gaza are becoming prolonged. Many lives are being lost as the humanitarian crisis expands.

The WORLD YEARBOOK DIGEST interprets the current tumultuous international society and is a yearbook of international information for deepening one’s understanding of events. Kyodo News has been editing and publishing the yearbook each year since 1949. The yearbook covers the latest information in approximately 200 countries and regions around the world. It provides easy-to-understand summaries of information from each country and region, including history, politics, economy, and relations with Japan, with a focus on key events that have occurred in each country or region.

The List of Heads of State and Cabinet Members shows the heads of state and cabinet members of each country, with their names in alphabetical notation. The Reference section includes a chronology of important historical events, a list of the major world airports and airlines, and a list of past Nobel Prize winners. The Who’s Who of the World gives profiles of more than 500 important world personalities. A world map and the flags of the world are also included as reference graphics.

    * Due to copyright reasons, the photographs and illustrations from the yearbook are not included.
